Thanksgiving day - Attitude of Gratitude

It's a public holiday here in America to celebrate THANKS GIVING day.
I think it is a very meangingful day to celebrate.
A time to reflect upon the number of things we can give thanks and appreciate the things around us.

I went to the Macy's parade early in the morning. It was cold and windy morning but there was the sunny bright sun that warm each and everyone watching the parade.

The parade was grand and lots of people gathering together to get the best spot to see the parade.

It lasted for about 2 hrs and on my way home i passed by a church and was given a very interesting article about thanksgiving.

Let me share with you the story.

During the GREAT DEPRESSION , many families had no income and no food for the children.
There was this family who had a very faithful mother. She told the children to set up the table nicely for THANKSGIVING dinner. The children gathered around the table and waited for the food. After a long time, there was no food on the table.

The mother told the children that they should hold hands and say grace. Then she lead the children into a beatiful prayer. The prayer was interrupted by a knock at the door. Mother got up and went to the door. A servant form the lovely neighbourhood. She said that "lady of the house" had been given a party that afternoon and there was quite abit of food left over. After a few moments this servant returned with another servant carrying huge silver tureens filled with hot food, and placed it on the table for them.
And very soon they began a marvelous, sumptuous feast and a happy and wonderful time.

The mother had little to give thanks for but she and an awful lot to give thanks from the belief the conviction , IN GOD the ever present help that there was a divine supportive within the universe.

I had taken this special day to reflect upon the journey in my life.

The ups and downs in my life journey was a wonderful experience I had.

I give thanks in every situations. Good or bad.
I see miracles that happen in my life.
Having an attitude of gratitude does not mean i won't face any adversity in my life.
But i know i can approach those adversities with more confidence, calmness and most of all i see all this experiences from the point of LOVE.

I believe all things happen for my own good. for my growth and learn to handle things and see things from the point of LOVE.

The basic ingredient for SUCCESS is LOVE.
Love in my heart is the greatest motivational ingredient that keeps me going.

COntinue to give THANKS to all people who are nice and not nice, give thanks when things do not happen the way we want to be... GIVE THANKS.

I can't control the things that happen around me but i can control the way i feel about it.

Man without dreams will perish

It's Sunday and is spending time with family watching TV
I was watching a Taiwanese drama and the conversation between the hairstylist touches my heart.

The customer was sharing that she is a national tennis player but have to give up her dream if she lose the game as her boyfriend disagree with her to continue her dream as a player if they were to stay together. So she must win the game if not she has to agree to leave her career .

She hated to give up her dreams and return to working for people. She finds it boring to work in the office.

The hairstlylist too. She had been seeking customers who are willing to let her style their hair. But she had not success about it. No one wants her as they do not trust her skill. Finally one day she decided if she could not get any customer by noon tomorrow she will go back to her hometown and do her routine and boring work.

Next day, the tennis player won the competition. She was on TV sharing her appreciation of the hairstylist who design her hair . Many people went to the hair salon and wanted the novice hairstylist to cut their hair.

What a touching story!

How important it is to have dreams in our life.

My passion is in healing and I hope more people could heal their life.
This is my dream that I could share with more people that living life to the fullest is possible if they are open and allow that miracle to enter into their life.

Listen to our inner soul

We learn many lessons throughout our lives. Some of these lessons may interfere, challenge, or overcome other, more important lessons. We have been told that focusing on ourselves, our own needs, and our own desires can be an act of selfishness. We've learned that pleasing and thinking of others before ourselves is an act of heroism. Perhaps we feel that following our own hearts and dreams, doing what we love to do, and aiming for such pleasures is being selfish, but it's not. Perhaps we feel ashamed for climbing the ladder of success when it demands change and possibly a level of discomfort for those we love the most who travel this journey along with us, but we shouldn't. And perhaps we feel we are to blame because with each step, each reach, we must leave something or even someone behind, but we aren't.

While letting go of guilt and giving ourselves permission to follow our hearts, we have to also be aware that fear dictates our every move. The fear of failure may be universal, but so is the fact that if we do not try, we are giving ourselves a life sentence of nothingness. a life where we will simply exist. Although it can be frightening to move forward into the unknown armed with nothing more than faith and to gamble with the lives, people, and things we treasure the most, it is much more frightening to be aware that if we don't, the fear that is holding us back today will transform itself into regret later in life. The fear we experience should be regarded and compared to nothing more than a mother's tender, loving, and protective embrace. Once she sees your strength, your courage, and how well you have learned to fly, she will set you free.

In a world where instant gratification is becoming more and more rampant, the issue of time itself can become a discouraging factor when imagining how long our journeys may take. Each dream and journey could take years, even a complete lifetime to obtain and travel to. Time is essential to the process as there are necessary experiences that we will need to endure and valuable lessons that we will have to extract in order to reach our destination. Do not allow the uncontrollable to discourage you. Just as a mother cannot rush the birth of her miracle until it has gone through each of its necessary stages, we must let our days unfold and go through each of their own stages. If we continue to nurture our dreams, we too, will hold our own miracles.

What is in front of us today may actually be our hearts most dangerous keeper... a master in disguise, concealing the truth while imprisoning us within an easy dwelling and comforting zone. Although our prison cells are made up of nothing more than a layer of haze placed before our eyes only, for all of our other senses know, we remain motionless as if surrounded by an indestructible barricade. The circumstances we live in and our daily routines hinder our dreams from moving forward and prevent our desires from taking action without even being aware of it. We sometimes confuse an eventful life with a fulfilled one. We allow our days to interfere with our destinies by focusing most or all of our emotions and actions on insignificant and irrelevant matters. We are all born with dreams and desires and have places we want to go. Do not let the longing to find a place where you can stop and rest cause you to settle down short of your destination. Extract your lessons and continue on with your journey.

We need to step away from the world we live in from time to time, sit in silence, and hear what our hearts and souls are whispering within us. We need to remove ourselves from the everyday sameness and think about where it is that we want to go. We need to follow our hearts by closing our eyes and becoming aware of our inner surroundings. We all have an imaginary sanctuary that we travel to when we close our eyes to rest at night or when the world we live in is not in harmony with whom we really are or who we really need to be. Why not close your eyes, visit that place as often as you can, and listen to each and every whisper. so that one day. when you do open your eyes, you will know exactly where to go and how to get there. Then you, your mind, your heart, and your soul can finally all rest as one.

Go now, sit back in silence, and listen to the whispers within

There are solutions to every challenges in our life

Life is not a bed of roses. There are always obstacles or major decisions we had to make in some point of our life.

Recently I was in a dilemma. Two major decisions I had to made. I could not make up my mind. My energy fell out of balance with all these negative clutters in my mind. FEAR INDECISIVE CONFUSION.

I knew i need to quiet down my mind to listen to my inner voice what I really want.
I went into meditation this morning.

I came into realisation that I should view my challenges with love in my heart knowing that everything is in control . Everything happens for my spiritual growth.

I admitted and forgive myself for the wrong decisions I had made in life and took responsibility for it.

My perception to my challenges began to change. I found solutions to my issues and moved forward with my daily life with peace and love in my soul.

From this experience, I began to realised that if we continue to view our situation as a problem, we will continue to focus on FEAR.

However, if we view our problem with LOVE and know that it happens for our own good and growth. We will be able to find a solution to every challenges we meet in life.

We can change our life by first changing our thought.

Sex and the city the movie

I was flying to Bangkok to conduct a workshop and the inflight movie was SEX AND THE CITY. I wasn't impressed by the title nor did I watched any of the series.
However, I was engrossed in the movie throughout my flight.

The love story of 4 ladies.

I had been pondering which one should I choose first LOVE or CAREER.

After watching this movie, I decided I want to have BOTH. :-)

MAMMA MIA . The winner take it all

It;s always nice to watch a movie over the weekend.
I went to watched MAMMA MIA and the songs were fantastic.

The highlight of the movie to me is this song call THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL.
Merly Streep had such a strong vocal and she put so much emotions and feeling while singing the songs.

It had went deep into my heart ....

National Guild Of Hypnotist 2008

Time flies, this year NGH 2008 annual convention is over.
It had been a tremendous experience for me. Besides attending workshops, I had also made several new friends.

I felt very blessed this year I had won USD100 in the lucky draw. Though it was not a substantial sum at least it is a rebate for the books I had bought.

It was tiring to attend every workshop without rest though...

Hope the programe for next year would get better and better.. looking forward to next year's convention 2009.

Anyone living in South East Asia and of course in Singapore who are interested to attend the next year NGH, do write to me at missionwthlove@hotmail.com.

It would be my pleasure to coordinate the trip to anyone who are keen to learn more about hypnosis.

Let's go as a group . It's more fun... :-)

Love in the air - New York City

It was the best tour I had ever made in America. I made a short trip to New York from Boston by bus. It's very convenient and upon arrival I could sense the difference between the quiet town in marlbourough and new york.
New york is filled with with people walking on the streets. I saw many familiar buildings on the streets. Statue of liberty, times squares, central park etc.

People there are so friendly. They would greet you on the street smile at you with ease.

I was very blessed to have a chanced to do dogwalking on the streets of Manhattan.
Visiting some American homes too.

It was the most SPECIAL and UNFORGETTABLE tour I had ever experienced.
Thank you

Social manners

This morning had breakfast at a market in Ang Mo Kio with family. I was astonished to see the leftover food on the table. I believe the people who had set there had taken BAK KU TEH.

I couldn't control but to comment about their social manner with my family members. The plates were strewn all over the table, the soup were spilt all over the table. The man who is working as a helper to clean the table commented that this is not an uncommon sight. There are cases worst than that. Iwas disappointed to hear that comment.

What happen to all the people who wear suits at Raffles place? the image they project seems to be well mannered. But come to hawker centre/market shouldn't we should project the same manner? or is it common to have double standard????

Is this the social manner that had been programmed into people's mind that it should be that way.

When I was in Japan and American, they were very well mannered in their table manners and social behaviour. They greet you on the street and they clear their utensils after each meal in fast food restaurant.

I love the toilets in japan. The public toilets are so clean and well maintained.

I wonder what will happen if we installed the electric seat in Singpaore in the public toilet. Will it be well taken of by the public.

I remembered the toilet in Newton circus were so dirty with foot prints on the toilet seat that I wrote to the minister. And i gave suggestions like maybe we should put toilet seat paper users could seat instead of standing on top of the toilet seat and use it. i was so embarrased by the foreigner who stands in front of me waiting for her turn to go in. What will she think ?

Countries in Japan and America have the habit to clear their used cups and bowls after they had finished in fast food restaurant. However I don't see anyone doing it in Singapore. We let the staff in the fast food restaurant to clear the table.

I could see their unhappy facial expressions whenever they clean the table.

When I was in Japan, I read an article that says we can see the person's manner by just looking at their toilet.

I was away from Singapore for more than 10 years, and was told people here are more interested in chasing after material needs then developing their inner needs.

Hmmmm, should we spend more time to develope our inner self? through that we can build a more gracious country.

I read the newspaper that commented Singaporeans wore too casual in public places even at our first class Singapore Changi Airport.

Should'nt we do something about it?
Or majority will say, "it's not my business.
I'm more concern about making money. "

This is my thinking hat for this weekend.

What a wonderful world

Inflation is the word now for every country in this world.
Rising cost had result in many changes in some people's life.

But I choose to remain calm and believe that the world is beautiful.
Look at the nature in this video. Aren;t they beautiful?

Focus on abundant in this world and let's learn how to be creative in our life instead of feeling competitive all the time.

The birds in this world do not have to worry about what to eat every day as the heavenly father will provide.

What more we are created in the image of GOD and precious in HIS eyes....

Somewhere only we know

When I watched this movie, I realised that there are many hidden message in it.
Life is about searching the truth, our purpose.
Though Prince siddhartha had a family and good life, he left the palace in search for the truth in life.

We came to this earth with nothing and we leave this universe in dust.

Life is a journey. It's not about how much $$$ you have in the bank.
It's all about if you have lived a fulfilling life.

To learn we need to change

Last Saturday I was watching a movie called THE LITTLE BUDDHA with a group of friends.

The movie touches my heart and I had a desire to share with everyone.
The prince Siddhartha had been meditating and starving himself for 6 years to learn about SUFFERING in life.
He realised that it's the wrong way towards enlightenment.

When his disciple saw that he started to eat and bathe in the river they left him.
He tried to explain to them " TO LEARN WE NEED TO CHANGE"

I felt he's speaking to us . In business we need to change our strategies if it doesn't work for us.
Or we have to change some of our own habits in order to achieve our goals.
If we don't change we will remain the same and when we remain the same there will be no result neither can we achieve our dreams in life.

Sometimes when we change to be better, some friends will leave us too….because of different frequency in our thinking.

A new day has come

This morning as usual I woke up at 5 am. Changed and went to the gym to work out.
It's fun to observe the people around me. The group of people I see is different from the time if I got to work around 7:30am.

At 6am, MRT are people who are working as cleaners for office.
Age between 50-60 years old. It was rather pack but not like the timing around 7:30-8am.

The workout was great. I was listening to my favorite singer Celine Dion song and work out . After each work out i felt so energised and ready to meet the challenge for today. :-)

I expect to meet more challenges in life as I've decided to walk out from my comfort zone and live a life of FREEDOM.

I had been unhappy with being an employee. Instead of complaining, I have been working hard to look for my purpose in life. I've found it!

I don't want to be a student forever but I want to produce and give more to my family and society. It's ACTION time.

To change we have to feel uncomfortable initially. But when we see what we can actually do life is full of JOY and meaning.

I love changes cos it mold me to become a better and better person.

I'm glad that now I could spend quality time and energy with positive, successful people and learn from them.

To me life is all about continous learning AND growing! :-)

A new day has come

SIngapore MRT

Taking the train to work every morning hasnt been a pleasant experience anymore.
I felt I was back in TOKYO again. Every morning the train is always packed like sardine. I would be lucky if I could get a seat during my 45 mins ride to work.

My strongest desire is to get out from this unpleasant experience.

The only way I could save myself is change my mindset.
Think a different lifestyle from the conventional people .

E.g. Ive got up early, work out in the gym early and avoid the peak hr.

My next step is .... for me to know , for you to find out. :-)

My recent life

Recent life had been very dynamic. I love new challenges and recent projects had kept me busy from mon to sunday 24 hrs .

To keep me energised, Ive started to work out at Carlifornia fitness.
Evening time are always crowded so Ive decided to go there early in the morning before i start work .

Each time I work out, i felt so great ! Sweat it out... mind is more alert too.

prepare myself for more challenging projects and travel. :-)

Peace Today Movie http://www.MakeADifference.com/movies

Lets pray for peace and send love to everyone

Peace is the promise I make today
There's nothing greater for me to say
Than to lay down my fears
Lay down unhappiness
And surrender to
The peace I choose today

Peace is the gift that I give today
No easy shortcut, Peace is the way
I will lay down my pride
Lay down self-righteousness
And surrender to
The peace I choose today

My all, I give My love for all

Peace is the reason we're here today
No accident, we've been by name
Called to lay down our lives
Stand up for greater good
And surrender to the peace we choose today

Peace, we choose - today
Peace, we bring - today
Peace, we live oh-today

Peace today

Happy Valentines Day

Love
by Roy Croft
I love you not only forwhat you are,
but for what I am when I am with you.
I love you not only for what you have made
of yourself, but for what you are making of me.
I love you for the part of me that you bring out
I love you for putting your hand
into my heaped up heart and for passing over
all of the foolish things you can't
help dimly seeing there,
and for drawing out into the light
all of the beautiful belongings
that no one else has looked quite
far enough to find.
I love you because you have
done more than any creed
could have done to make me good
and more than any fate could
have done to make me happy.
You have done it without a touch,
without a word, without a sign.
You have done it by being yourself -
Perhaps that is what being a friend means, after all.
